"Hau Kola" Hello! I hope 2011 is lining up with your desires and dreams for the new year! The last quarter of 2010 was a very busy one for me and I thank God as always because I'm busy in an industry that I love. With all that is going on in our country in the financial world we must always give thanks when things are going well and even in those times of struggle we must also give thanks too. Just remember, even though times might be tough at times there is always someone else in the world dealing with issues way worse than yours so always be thankful because that will protect your heart, the way you see things and also bring success in your life. As a Native American and also Believer in God above we must always watch what we say because our words have power and can bring the things we desire or even the things that we do not desire. If you do not believe that words have power then think back to a time when someone close to you or even a stranger said something about you in a negative or harsh manner. Did it bother you, affect you or cause you to think at times about what was said to you? Words do have power so speak what you want to come to pass in your life in 2011. Believe me it works! Not mystical, just the truth..."Our tongue has power over life and death and by what you speak you shall eat from the fruit of your lips."
The last quarter of 2010 I traveled to West Virginia several times, Canada many times, Philadelphia to see my good friend and business associate who is very successful and the Founder of Beryl's World, being Mr. Beryl Wolk. My travels also took me to Albuquerque, New Mexico on December 12th for the television tapings of Lucha Libre USA that is aired Friday nights at 10 PM ET/PT on MTV2 and Saturday nights at 10 PM ET/PT on MTV
Tr3s. What a TV production and in the right environment for me, a Native American Casino on Sovereign Native Lands. It was a privilege to wrestle in the Main Event against the Blue Demon, a Superstar from Mexico along with his father being a Legend and Superstar in Mexico also. What a Main Event Match with a great crowd response from the Sold-Out Crowd at the Hard Rock and Hotel Casino. The poster above left was the advert for this event. After my trip to New Mexico I headed directly to Tampa for a few hours to see my family and then headed off to Washington, DC via Charlotte, NC. When I arrived in Washington it was on Dec 13th during that cold spell that hit the East Coast and boy was it bone chilling cold. I have traveled in Canada and Alaska where the winters are harsh and it goes well below 0 but I have not felt cold like this in many years. It was a challenge to stand in the cold to catch the Hotel Shuttle. Needless to say the first thing I did when I hit my room was turn up the heat! The next day I left from Washington, DC to Nigeria via Rome then to Addis Ababa, Africa and onwards to my final destination of Lagos, Nigeria for a one-week wrestling tour.
The tour in Nigeria was not only a learning experience but one to remember. We stayed at our own Executive Suites with our own lady servants at the Synagogue Church Of All Nations in Lagos, Nigeria. The people there are so kind and so courteous. The Church is overseen by Prophet T.B. Joshua who is a Man of God full of love and gives freely to everyone in need. They are currently feeding 2,000 people per day and housing a staff that supports the ministry that is very large. They reach millions of households via their own TV Network being Emmanuel.tv Click onto Church to see their official Church site. Maybe you do not go to Church or believe but there is something we can all agree on, loving people and helping masses of people with food, water, shelter, jobs, healing, and many who are given large amounts of money and even new cars to improve their lives we can all agree there is nothing wrong about that! Who could disagree with love and helping your brother who is in need. It was a blessing to meet Prophet T.B. Joshua and see he is just a regular man full of God's Love. Also to note Presidents from all over the world and many famous people from the US Business World that you see on TV regularly go to this Church of 15,000 people to visit and pray with the Prophet. On the tour was Sheldon Benjamin, Barbarian, Warlord, Chavo Guerrero Sr, myself and many others. Not only were we treated as royalty but we all had a really good time as a team visiting in Nigeria. There was a lot of TV coverage with the major networks in Africa that reach as much as 400M per one single network and spanning even into Europe. A lot of exposure in Africa and tours have already been planned for several visits this year.
Ending of January for me was in Los Angeles, California @ The Hilton LAX where Wrestle Reunion #5 took place. This event was bigger than last year and a very big success. Fans traveled from all over the world from as far as Japan for a 3-day weekend with the Legends and Hall of Famers of Professional Wrestling. Events started on Fri. with a special opportunity session to take pictures with the stars you choose in character, followed by a 4-hr autograph session and then wrestling events that night with ROH. This was repeated on Sat. with a highlight of the evening with a Battle Royal Match with the Legends and Hall of Famers of Wrestle Reunion #5. It was a pleasure to have some of the biggest names in the business in the ring and go down to being the last 5 in the ring with Roddy Piper, Terry Funk, Shane Douglas, Vampiro and myself. Shane Douglas and Vampiro teamed up against Piper and Funk while I was busy with Chavo Guerrero Sr just prior to him being eliminated. Shane and Vampiro got the upper hand on Piper and Funk, which led me to save them and battle with Shane and Vampiro myself. The Native Warrior had both guys rocking and taking them off of their feet with a final close line to Vampiro with so much force that he did a 360% flip before hitting the mat. With both of them rocking and reeling they both crawled from the mat to the ropes and pulled themselves up, which set both of them up for a close line over the top rope by myself but at the last second Vampiro pulled Shane and himself out of the path of the Buffalo "Tatanka" and over the top I went. Within seconds though my save on Piper and Funk payed off because they eliminated Shane and Vampiro at that moment and then Piper eliminated Funk to become the winner of the Battle Royal. The fans loved it in a sold-out environment chanting "This Is Awesome"...No, not you Miz but the memory of the 80's and 90's came alive again for those that watched when they were younger! The event closed out on the third day with breakfast with the Superstars of Wrestle Reunion #5 with a Q & A session headed up by Mr. Bill Apter. To see photos of this event please Click Here.
After my trip in Los Angeles, California I headed back to Tampa to prepare for a 2 week wrestling tour with appearances in Germany that starts on Feb. 16th with a return back to the states on Mar. the 2nd. Then I turn around in less than 2 days and off to West Virginia with following tours in the month of Mar. in Canada and back to Nigeria. This year has kicked off with big events along with a busy schedule for me. To slow down some of that busy my wife and I took our boys to the 2011 Monster Truck Show @ Raymond James Stadium, Tampa, FL with a Sold-Out Crowd with some rain.
