Tatanka Down Under
Hello again to all the loyal Tatanka fans and the serious wrestling fans visiting ScoopsWrestling.Com, the #1 site for news!
The Australian tour, even though cut short by a few days and missing the New Zealand portion, was a great success.
We kicked off the tour in beautiful Sydney, Australia, with three days off before getting down to serious business.
We had a massive press day filled with cameras and reporters to officially launch the tour.
Joining me for this special day were Dennis Rodman, Mr. Perfect, L.O.D. Animal and Hawk, Public Enemy, One Man Gang, Barbarian, Typhoon, and Brutus “The Barber” Beefcake (a.k.a. Brute Force).
The press release was packed with top newspapers, radio reps, and media outlets.
Australia was excited for this tour, as it had been over 10 years since a major wrestling tour visited the country.
This excitement showed in the massive attendance at both the press events and the live shows.
Exploring Sydney: Tatanka’s Down Under Adventures
On the first three days off, I had the chance to enjoy the beautiful city of Sydney with my family.
It was incredible to see iconic landmarks like the Sydney Opera House and the Olympic Village, which was ready for the 2000 Summer Olympics.
We also got up close to koala bears, kangaroos, and the unique wildlife of Australia.
And, of course, we hit the shopping markets in Downtown Sydney, taking advantage of the strong American Dollar.
My wife, daughter, and I enjoyed finding gifts for friends, family, and ourselves.
Throughout the tour, we stayed in luxurious hotels with high-rise towers and breathtaking views.
The Wrestling Action: Packed Houses and Epic Matches
The wrestling events took place in some of the largest venues in Australia.
In Sydney, we performed at the Olympic Village’s big venue, which seated around 10,000 fans.
The crowds were electric, with smaller venues selling out and larger arenas nearly full.
Andrew McManus, who led the promotion, spared no expense in producing a high-quality show.
There were lights, smoke, elaborate entrance ramps, and even Australia’s version of the Nitro Girls for dance breaks between matches.
Rodman faced off against Mr. Perfect, delivering a wild match that felt more like a street fight at times.
I squared off against One Man Gang to kick off the tour.
Fans have been incredibly supportive, sharing their thoughts about my matches on my discussion boards and through emails.
I give all the glory to God for blessing me with these opportunities.
One Man Gang and I delivered intense matches that had fans on their feet.
I was crowned the first Superstars of Wrestling Australasian Heavyweight Champion, adding even more excitement to our matches.
In one bout, Gang defeated me using a foreign object while the referee was down, but I retained the title.
Our best match came a few nights later, earning massive cheers from the crowd.
I also faced Typhoon, a powerful opponent, but left the ring as the champion after a hard-fought battle.
Closing the Tour: Melbourne Magic and New Titles
The tour ended with an unforgettable match in Melbourne against the Barbarian.
The crowd’s energy was incredible, and they cheered for both of us as we gave everything we had.
I have immense respect for Barbarian as a talent and a warrior in the ring.
I left Australia still holding the Australasian Championship.
The promotion even gave me the title belt to honor the victory.
This achievement is not just for me but for my native people worldwide and all my loyal fans.
Other matches on the tour included L.O.D. against Public Enemy in a table match, which had fans roaring.
Brutus “The Barber” Beefcake faced Typhoon and other opponents throughout the tour.
Paul Orndorff “Mr. Wonderful” also participated in matches and contributed his expertise as the booker for the tour.
Wrapping Up: The Gold Coast and Future Tours
The final days of the tour were spent at the Gold Coast of Australia near the Great Barrier Reef.
We stayed at Jupiters Casino, a stunning resort with everything you could want—nightly shows, fantastic food, gyms, beaches, and shopping malls.
Although I was disappointed we couldn’t make it to New Zealand, there are talks of another tour in the near future.
I want to thank Resort Live, based in Hollywood, California, for their professionalism and support.
To all my amazing fans in Australia, thank you for your energy and enthusiasm.
Your support means the world to me.
I’m on the rise again, and together, we will reach even greater heights in the world of professional wrestling.
I also want to thank God and His Son Jesus for blessing me with success and guiding me and my family.
